Wine Buying Basics **Zoom Event** Friday August 7th 5:30 pm Pacific, 8:30 pm Eastern




Are you confused by the overwhelming selection when you go to buy a bottle of wine at a store or at a restaurant?
Do you look at a wine label and are still confused about what is inside?
Do you wonder if that more expensive wine is worth it?
Do you just want a refresher on some of the basics?
If so you want to attend my “Wine Buying Basics” zoom event where I will answer all these questions and more.
Among the topics we will cover:
  • The differences in red wines.
  • The differences in white wines
  • Best wines at different price points
  • Navigating restaurant wine lists for value
  • Understanding common wine terms
If there is any other topic you would like covered or question you would like answered let me know about it in advance and I will include it in the presentation.
There is no wine to buy for the event although you are highly encouraged to enjoy a glass of one of your favorites while attending.
The event is free to attend although voluntary donations via PayPal (gasperthewineguy@gmail.com) and Venmo (@Gasper-Genovese) are encouraged and accepted.
The event will take place on Friday, August 7th at 5:30 pm Pacific 8:30 pm Eastern. Feel free to eat dinner during the class if that fits your schedule.

So you don’t like red wine huh?

You are one of those “I hate red wine, I only drink white” kind of people? It’s fine.  This is America you are free to be who you want to be.  But that doesn’t mean you are right.    I would bet that the reason you don’t like red wine is because you probably have gone about it all wrong.   You are probably used to drinking fruit wine, sweet wines (click here to find out if it is wrong to drink sweet wine) , or even chardonnay.  Someone once probably served you a two year old red Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and your face puckered up like an old guy who forgot to put in his dentures, and you probably e spit it out thinking to yourself “who the heck can drink this crap”.  Starting out with a young Cabernet Sauvignon is like learning to ski on an Olympic downhill course instead of the bunny hill.  You simply started with the wrong red wine.  You went too fast too soon.   The reason your mouth puckered up and you did not enjoy th...

Two Great Value Wines At Costco

Costco believe it or not is one of the biggest wine retailers in the world.  Because of that they are able to leverage their size to get great great wines at great prices.  They have a rotating selection of wines, and depending on the drinking habits of the surrounding area the sell different wines at different locations. At my Costco they carry two wines that I consider to be great values that they always seem to have in stock.   One is Chateau D' Aqueria Tavel Rose.  Tavel is an application in the southern Rhone region of France that only produces dry Rose.  It is one of the most full bodied rose wines you will ever experience.  I love to drink it by itself but I also pair it with Salmon.  $12.99 is an outstanding price for a wine this good. My other favorite Costco wine is Villa Antinori Toscana red table wine.   This highly rated wine is a Super Tuscan (a wine produced in Tuscany with at least some grapes not being Sangiovese)...
