I'm often asked what some of my favorite wines are. A lot of them are not widely available so I can't include them in my tastings. That is about to change. One of my favorite wineries is Big Table Farm from Carlton (Willamette) Oregon. Their wines have received outstanding ratings from Wine Spectator Magazine and other wine publications. The owners and winery have been featured in the New York Times and a host of other publications. These wines are usually only available at the winery or via their mailing list. I let them know I wanted to feature their wines for a tasting and if they could set a package deal for us and they agreed!

Wild Bee Chardonnay: A great example of Oregon Chard it is versatile and works great as a cocktail wine, with chicken, or less pungent seafood. The per bottle price is $28

Pinot Gris: Fermented with its skins it has an orangish color (that is why white wines fermented on their skins are called orange wines) and a unique flavor that I particularly enjoy with cured meats and shellfish. $32.

Willamette Valley Pinot Noir: Fruity and complex with a bit of earthiness. 92 points from Wine Spectator, and high scores from several others. I enjoy this one pork dishes (it has pigs on the label so I guess that makes sense) and salmon. $48 They are offering us two packages.

So you don’t like red wine huh?

You are one of those “I hate red wine, I only drink white” kind of people? Two Great Value Wines At Costco

Costco believe it or not is one of the biggest wine retailers in the world.  Because of that they are able to leverage their size to get great great wines at great prices.  They have a rotating selection of wines, and depending on the drinking habits of the surrounding area the sell different wines at different locations. At my Costco they carry two wines that I consider to be great values that they always seem to have in stock.   One is Chateau D' Aqueria Tavel Rose.  Tavel is an application in the southern Rhone region of France that only produces dry Rose.  It is one of the most full bodied rose wines you will ever experience.  I love to drink it by itself but I also pair it with Salmon.  $12.99 is an outstanding price for a wine this good. My other favorite Costco wine is Villa Antinori Toscana red table wine.   This highly rated wine is a Super Tuscan (a wine produced in Tuscany with at least some grapes not being Sangiovese) consisting of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauv
