Try Something Different For Thanksgiving -Virtual Tasting via Zoom Friday November 6, 5:00 Arizona, 4:00 Pacific, 7:00 Eastern

 

Thanksgiving is a day that we all sit down with the ones we love as well as the ones we must. For years many of us have been in a rut relying on tried and true wines for our Thanksgiving meals. Pinot Noir, Reisling, and Gewurztraminer. Our next wine tasting will let you get out of that rut, allowing you to show thanks to the ones you love without overspending on the ones you must. You may also find some wines you did not know you liked and may be willing to drink all year long. Coincidentally the wines are all French and try as I might I cannot come up with a tie in between France and Thanksgiving other than the fact that these wines will really complement your meal and the French did help us win the Revolutionary War but that was way after the first Thanksgiving. First off, we will be tasting a Trimbach Pinot Blanc ($17.99 Total Wine), followed by a Jadot Beaujolais Villages ($10.99 Total Wine) followed by a Cuvee Signee by Romain Parisis Chinon ($18.99 Total Wine). The first two should be readily available outside of Total Wine. If you can’t make it to Total Wine try to find another Chinon that is described as medium body. So you don’t like red wine huh?

You are one of those “I hate red wine, I only drink white” kind of people? Two Great Value Wines At Costco

Costco believe it or not is one of the biggest wine retailers in the world.  Because of that they are able to leverage their size to get great great wines at great prices.  They have a rotating selection of wines, and depending on the drinking habits of the surrounding area the sell different wines at different locations. At my Costco they carry two wines that I consider to be great values that they always seem to have in stock.   One is Chateau D' Aqueria Tavel Rose.  Tavel is an application in the southern Rhone region of France that only produces dry Rose.  It is one of the most full bodied rose wines you will ever experience.  I love to drink it by itself but I also pair it with Salmon.  $12.99 is an outstanding price for a wine this good. My other favorite Costco wine is Villa Antinori Toscana red table wine.   This highly rated wine is a Super Tuscan (a wine produced in Tuscany with at least some grapes not being Sangiovese) consisting of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauv
